First – Goat Milk! It’s the first ingredient in our lotion AND it’s fresh real goat milk! Not goat milk powder, not canned, not store bought and a week old – but fresh and from our goats – which means non-gmo, corn & soy free feed, no vaccinations, medications, etc. Wholesome goat milk!
Let’s go over the ingredients that are the base for ALL of our Goat Milk Lotions:
- Goat Milk – we covered that!
- Distilled Water
- Sweet Almond Oil – proven to have good skin-conditioning and moisture-retention properties. Helps reinforce the skin barrier and reduce transepidermal water loss. Contains vitamin E (natural antioxidant) vitamin A, and trace minerals like zinc and magnesium.
- Shea Butter – High in vitamins A and E, and contains natural cinnamic acid derivatives which give it mild anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties.
- Avocado Oil – Deeply moisturizing and nourishing, with a high fat content that helps replenish and strengthen the skin’s natural moisture barrier. Rich in oleic acid, along with vitamins A, D, and E — contributes to skin softness and helps support elasticity.
- Emulsifying Wax – emulsifying wax has both a water-loving (hydrophilic) end and an oil-loving (lipophilic) end, so it locks the two phases together at a molecular level, keeping the lotion smooth and pourable/spreadable long-term.
- Stearic Acid – It’s a saturated fatty acid naturally found in many plant and animal fats (including shea butter, in fact). Helps stabilize the emulsion further and improve how well the water and oil phases stay bound together over time.
- Optiphen Plus – a broad-spectrum preservative to keep it safe and fresh — no parabens or formaldehyde
- Essential Oils or Fragrance Oils or Unscented – Essential oils offer a natural scent with gentle aromatherapy perks, fragrance oils deliver a wider variety of fun, long-lasting scents, and unscented is perfect for sensitive skin or anyone who prefers a fragrance-free, simple lotion — so whichever you choose, it’s crafted with the same goat milk goodness at its core.
